Maruti Suzuki took the wraps off the Grand Vitara only last month. The pre-booking of the country’s largest auto company’s upcoming SUV Grand Vitara is still going on. However, Maruti has not yet disclosed the official prices of the Grand Vitara. But the current pre-booking figures are very shocking. The Grand Vitara is to be offered in the Indian market in mild hybrid and strong hybrid variants. According to the reports, the customers are very much liking the Strong Hybrid. The hybrid version of the Grand Vitara can give a mileage of 27.97 kmpl.
Strong hybrid accounts for half of the total bookings
The Grand Vitara SUV will be Maruti Suzuki’s most hi-tech car after its launch. According to reports, Maruti has revealed that out of the total pre-bookings of the Grand Vitara, 48 percent of bookings are for the strong hybrid variant. The strong hybrid variant can be quite expensive as compared to the mild hybrid Grand Vitara. Despite the possibility of being expensive, the strong hybrid Vitara is attracting a lot of people.
Low subsidy and strong booking
Strong hybrid powertrains are a new thing in India. The government gives very less subsidies to hybrid vehicles as compared to electric vehicles. But booking figures show that people are ready to buy strong hybrid variants instead of expensive electric cars. Even the Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) Honda City e: HEV hybrid car has a long wait. There are many questions in people’s minds regarding the low range of fully electric cars.
27.97 km mileage
In the upcoming SUV car, the customers have been given a hybrid powertrain, in which the electric motor and 1.5-liter petrol engine are available. The company claims that the combined power of the electric motor and petrol engine gives the car a fuel efficiency of 27.97 kmpl. According to the auto website Car Dekho, the strong hybrid variant of Toyota’s Highrider was also wooing people.
