In Mumbai, the price of PNG has been reduced by Rs 4 per standard cubic meter by Mahanagar Gas. Due to this the price of PNG has come down to Rs 48.50 per SCM. At the same time, the price of CNG has come down by Rs 6 per kg to Rs 80 per kg.

In the case of PNG users, the most commonly used alternative product of PNG is Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). In comparison, the savings of PNG users will be 18 percent.

Prices were increased this month
It is to be known that in the first week of August, Mahanagar Gas had increased the prices of CNG and PNG by the same amount as has been cut now. This was the sixth hike in CNG and PNG prices since April this year. On 2 August 2022, Mahanagar Gas increased the prices of CNG and PNG in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) by Rs 6/kg and Rs 4/scs respectively. Thereafter, the city’s rickshaw and taxi unions raised the demand for a hike in fares.

There are also 18 lakh families in MMR who use PNG. Meanwhile, there is no respite from the reduction in gas prices in the national capital Delhi. At the same time, the price of PNG in domestic kitchens here was recently increased by Rs 2.63 per unit. The price of piped cooking gas in Delhi is Rs 50.59 per standard cubic meter.
