Revealed: Fearing Modi government, Elon Musk cancels Twitter deal
claimed in court
Twitter had moved court against Musk. Musk claimed in a countersuit against Twitter in a Delaware court that Twitter hid information from him when he finalized the deal to buy Twitter. Musk told the court that he was not told about the ongoing case in India. According to court sources, Elon Musk said that Twitter should follow local laws in India. Twitter has told the court that Musk was given full information by the company.
IT Act of India
In the year 2021, India’s Ministry of Information Technology decided to introduce some rules to allow social media posts to be scrutinized, identify the origin of the information, and allow prosecution with some stringent action arrangements. But Twitter refused to accept this law of the government. Although Elon Musk is said to be a supporter of free speech, he says that Twitter should follow the local laws of the country. Referring to a petition filed in the Karnataka High Court to counter Twitter, Musk said that Twitter did not inform him about these issues.
Musk broke the deal
Musk struck a deal to buy Twitter for $44 billion. But then he broke it. Twitter has presented a case against him in the US Delaware Court. Musk has announced the cancellation of the agreement, which did not provide accurate information about the fake accounts. Twitter, on the other hand, said they would sue Musk to uphold the agreement.
