Review of Vivo T1 Pro 5G, will you buy this Vivo phone?

Review of Vivo T1 Pro 5G: Vivo has launched three devices in Series T this year – Vivo T1 5G, Vivo T1 Pro 5G, and Vivo T1 44W. Vivo T1 5G was launched at the beginning of the year, while T1 44W and T1 Pro 5G were launched in the Indian market in the second quarter of the year. Both these phones look alike to look at. However, the Vivo T1 Pro is a 5G smartphone, while the Vivo T1 44W supports 4G networks.

All these Vivo devices seem to be photocopies of the iQOO Z6 series. iQOO Z6 Pro 5G and Vivo T1 Pro 5G smartphones were launched in India in a span of a week. From the hardware and software to the design of these two phones, you will not find any difference even by searching. We have used Vivo T1 Pro, let’s know how this smartphone is.

selfie camera: 16MP

Vivo T1 Pro 5G Design

As soon as you take this Vivo phone out of the box, you will get to see a different kind of camera design in it. It will get two circular rings, in which the mains in one and the other two sensors have been given in the other. These two circular rings are aligned in a vertical line. Along with them, a dual LED flashlight is given in the center. The camera module has a dual-color finish, which makes it visible in two halves.

3D plastic material has been used in the back panel, with which matte finishing is available. Due to the matte finish, fingerprints do not fall easily on it. Also, a transparent silicone cover is provided in the phone’s box, which you can use. Vivo’s branding has been done at the bottom of the back panel. Due to the camera module, the rear of the Vivo T1 Pro looks full, which I did not like.

From the front, you will feel like a low-budget phone. It has a display with traditional water or teardrop notch design. There is a selfie camera in the notch. The speaker is given above it. The bezels on both sides of the display are thin, but the chin is quite thick.

The power and volume controls of the phone are given on the right side of the frame. There is a volume button on the top and a hybrid power button on the bottom. The fingerprint is integrated with the power button, that is, there is a fingerprint scanner just above the power button. At the same time, there is a Type C charging jack, SIM card tray, and speaker grille at the bottom of the device. There is only one microphone on the top.

Talking about the overall design, we found it looks average. Vivo has tried to bring some innovation to its rear design, but that doesn’t make it attractive. The weight of the Vivo T1 Pro 5G is 180 grams, you will not find it too heavy. Due to the matte finish back panel, there will be no problem gripping it.

Vivo T1 Pro 5G Display

If there is one thing that is most used in any smartphone, it is the screen of the phone. Vivo has kept the design of its display like a low-budget phone but has used an AMOLED panel in it. Its display size is 6.44 inches. It supports peak brightness up to 1300 nits. Also, HDR10+ support makes the display quality even better. The best thing about it was that everything is clearly visible on the screen even in direct sunlight.

The display of the phone is good for consuming content. SGS Eye Care Protection is also available for browsing content on OTT platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, and SonyLIV for a long time, which especially prevents harmful blue light from the display from reaching the eyes.

Its display performs well even during gaming with content browsing. It has support for 90Hz ultra smooth refresh rate. Also, it supports a 180Hz touch sampling rate. While playing high graphics games such as BGMI, COD Mobile, etc., the performance of the display is not only good in standard mode, but the frame rate of the display remains correct while playing games in ultra mode also. You will not see any kind of lag.

The only complaint I have is that Vivo has given a 120Hz refresh rate display in its base model Vivo T1 5G, while it gets a 90Hz refresh rate. If it also had a display with a 120Hz refresh rate, then the rating of the phone would have got a few more points.

Vivo T1 Pro 5G performance

The Vivo T1 Pro 5G has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G processor, which supports the Kyro 670 CPU core. This processor is available in many brands of smartphones in the mid and upper-midrange. The special feature of this processor is that it is considered good for everyday tasks like calling, messaging, video browsing, music, social media apps, standard gaming, etc. I have reviewed its base 6GB RAM + 128GB variant, which has encountered problems in multifunction several times.

An extended RAM feature is also available in the phone, through which you can increase the RAM by 4GB. In the 6GB variant, you can expand only 2GB of RAM. I increased its RAM to 6GB + 2GB i.e. 8GB in total, even after this the problem of hanging during multifunction and gaming persisted.

The company claims that an 8-layer cooling system has been provided with it, which keeps the device cool during heavy usage. I did not see any problem in launching games like BGMI and COD Mobile, but after playing for 20 to 25 minutes in high graphics settings, the phone gets hot. On paper, even though the company is claiming that the phone will not get hot, it also gets hot and starts hanging.

However, there is no problem with the back panel heating up while playing the game in standard mode. It cannot be called a pro-gaming phone, but for daily use, it is a fine device in terms of performance. The latest Android 12 operating system is available on the phone, with which customized Funtouch OS 12 skin has been given.

Battery performance of Vivo T1 Pro 5G

This mid-budget phone from Vivo comes with a 4,700mAh battery and 66W fast charging support. It takes about 1 hour for the phone’s battery to be fully charged from 0. The advantage of having fast charging is that you can use it comfortably for 5 to 6 hours after charging it for 20 minutes. The battery backup of the phone is fine. Once fully charged, it runs smoothly throughout the day.

If you are not a heavy user, then after fully charging the phone in the morning, you can use it throughout the day. The battery of the phone will have to be charged again the next day in the morning itself. Videos on YouTube can be watched for 4 to 5 hours after the battery is fully charged. Also, with this, you can do 4 hours of video recording.

I did not watch the video by recording for 4 consecutive hours, but in 20 minutes of recording, the phone’s battery was discharged about 9 percent. According to this, its battery can give a backup of about 4 hours on recording video.

However, at that time the phone was not connected to the internet, and neither the mobile data was on. If you connect the device to the Internet and record videos, then its battery will probably last only 3 hours. The performance of the phone has been fine in terms of battery backup.

Vivo T1 Pro 5G Camera

Now let us talk about the most important aspect of the smartphone, that is, the camera features. We are calling it important because most people check the camera after taking the phone in hand, then buy the phone. In the era of Vlogging, Instagram Reels, and Snapchat, the camera feature of the phone is the most demanding. This is the reason why phone makers focus a lot on the camera.

The Vivo T1 Pro has a triple rear camera setup, which includes a 64MP main lens, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. There is a 16MP front camera for selfies and video calling.

First of all, let’s talk about the main camera of the phone. In daylight, the camera of the phone can click a good picture. The aperture of the main lens is f/1.79, which gives the camera a good dynamic range during the day. Because of this, good detailing is available in the pictures. It seems that the camera app gets an automatic beauty mode, which corrects the color of the clicked image. By clicking a picture, you can upload it to social media platforms like Instagram and Snapchat without any editing, etc.

Due to the large aperture in the main camera, the image quality is good even in low light. However, its night mode is not so good. The quality of the picture taken in this mode will be average. The detailing in the phone is not good. There is blurring around the edges of the picture.

Talking about its 8MP i.e. Ultrawide camera, then you get a field of view (FOV) of 117 degrees in it. This camera can click images with decent detailing. However, due to the AI feature, the picture will look quite different from the real image. The color composition of the photo gets enhanced, which looks good and is perfect for social media uploading.

Talking about the 2MP macro lens given in the Vivo T1 Pro, it seems that it has been used only to make a triple rear camera setup. The performance of the macro camera is average. However, we do not use it much. Perhaps this is the reason why companies do not pay so much attention to this camera.

Vivo has tuned the front camera with AI Beauty in such a way that there is no need to apply filters after clicking the picture. However, you can also remove the filter. The picture can also be clicked with fine detailing from the selfie camera. The best thing about it is that it gives a bokeh effect, and blurs the background so that the main image looks different. This means you can click photos in portrait mode from the front camera as well.

Video recording of 4K quality can be done with the camera of Vivo T1 Pro. It also has the feature of slow-motion video recording. In the camera app of the phone, you also get features like Panorama, Portrait, etc., using which you will be able to capture pictures or video recordings of different moments. The overall camera of the phone is good for video recording and social media uploads.

Should you buy Vivo T1 Pro 5G?

The price of this Vivo phone starts from Rs 23,999. Its camera and display quality is good, but it lags a bit in terms of performance and design. Due to less RAM, the performance of the phone is also affected. The 6GB variant faces heavy multitasking problems, which may not be the case with the top variant with 8GB RAM.

Vivo has tried to make its design unique, but we liked it less. The back panel of the phone seems quite full. Although the finishing of the phone is good, the waterdrop notch of the display gives a budget phone feel. In our view, it gives a Fifty-Fifty feel. If you use the phone for basic needs and want to buy Vivo’s phone, then this can be an option for you. However, there are some phones available in this price range, which gives it tough competition.
