Akanksha was born on 26th July 1988 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh to RK Puri and Chitra Puri. She finished her schooling and graduated from college in her hometown. Apart from acting and modeling, Akanksha has a great interest in dancing. Although Akanksha wanted to become an actress from a younger age, she was an international cabin crew for Kingfisher Airlines before she started modeling and acting.
Akanksha first appeared in the Tamil movie Alex Pandian in 2013 followed by Tihar and Praise the lord (Malayalam). She made her debut in Bollywood with Calendar Girls in 2015.
