Oviya Biography, Wiki, Age, Height, Career, Photos: Helen Nelson was born on 29 April 1991. She is popular for her stage name Oviya. She is an Indian model and actress who works in Tamil and Malayalam films. She made her breakthrough as an actress in Sarkunam’s rural romantic comedy Kalavani (2010), before appearing in other films including Pandiraj’s Marina (2012), Moodar Koodam (2013), and Madha Yaanai Koottam (2013).

Oviya has also enjoyed box office success through her roles in Sundar C’s Kalakalappu (2012) and the horror comedy Yaamirukka Bayamey (2014). In 2017, Oviya appeared on the reality series Bigg Boss Tamil.

Oviya Career

Oviya started her acting career by portraying supporting roles in films. She made her acting debut with the 2007 Malayalam film “Kangaroo” as ‘Susanna.’She then worked in films like Puthiya Mukham (2009) and “Apoorva (2008)”. She made her Tamil debut with the film “Naalai Namadhe” as ‘Aishwarya’ in 2009. She was pursuing her graduation when the director Sargunam offered her the lead role of ‘Maheshwari’ in the Tamil film “Kalavani” in 2010.

She became a household name after the film. She then signed for several small-budget films such as “Amara,” “Vengai,” “Mugham Ni Agham Naan,” and “Muthukku Muthagga” but only a few had a theatrical release. She made her Kannada film debut with the 2011 film “Kirataka” in the role of ‘Nethra.’She started prioritizing her work in the Tamil Cinema. Her acting career began to decline after 2014.

In 2015, she made her Bollywood debut with the film “Yeh Ishq Sarfira” in which, she played the role of ‘Riya.’In 2017, she participated in the reality TV show “Bigg Boss Tamil.” Oviya gained instant popularity through the show, but she later quit the show on medical grounds.

After the show, her acting career took a turn, and she was signed for several films including “Muni 4: Kanchana 3,” “Oviyavai Vitta Yaru,” “Kalavani 2,” “Raja Bheema,” and “Black Coffee.”In 2018, she made a guest appearance on “Bigg Boss Tamil (Season 2).
