Accenture Revises Salary Hike Policy, Covers More Employees with Split Basic Pay and Lump-Sum Increase

Accenture Revises Salary Hike Policy: In a major compensation update, Accenture has revised its salary hike policy for 2026, allowing more employees to receive annual pay increases through a new compensation model that splits salary hikes equally between basic pay and a one-time lump-sum payment. 💰

The move comes as the global IT services giant looks to reward a larger section of its workforce while maintaining payroll efficiency amid an uncertain global economic environment.

📈 Accenture Expands Salary Hikes to More Employees

According to an internal memo reviewed by PTI, Accenture has introduced a fresh approach for its June 2026 compensation cycle, marking a significant shift from last year’s limited salary increases for employees who remained at the same career level.

Instead of offering the entire increment through a permanent increase in base salary, the company will divide eligible salary hikes into two equal parts:

  • ✅ 50% as an increase in basic salary
  • ✅ 50% as a one-time lump-sum payment

This strategy enables Accenture to extend salary hikes to a broader group of employees while keeping long-term payroll costs under control.

💡 How the New Accenture Salary Hike Works

Under the revised compensation framework, Talent Leads and Group Leads will decide the overall salary hike percentage for eligible employees.

For example:

  • 📌 If an employee is approved for a 3% salary hike:
    • 1.5% will be added to their basic salary
    • 1.5% will be paid as a one-time lump-sum payment

The lump-sum amount will be credited along with the June salary payout.

🎯 Why Accenture Is Splitting Salary Hikes

Accenture said the revised model addresses two important goals:

  • 💵 Employees receive immediate cash benefits, something many workers have said they value.
  • 📊 The company can provide base salary increases to more employees without significantly increasing fixed payroll expenses.

The approach allows Accenture to reward a larger workforce while balancing costs in today’s challenging business environment.

🚨 Promotion-Linked Salary Hikes Remain Unchanged

The company clarified that the 50:50 split does not apply to promotions.

Employees receiving promotions will continue to receive their entire salary increase through basic pay, ensuring their long-term compensation reflects their new role.

🎁 December Bonuses Will Continue

Accenture also confirmed that the one-time lump-sum payment will not replace the annual performance bonuses distributed during the company’s December compensation cycle.

Employees eligible for bonuses will continue to receive them as per the existing policy.

💰 Lump-Sum Payment Will Count Towards FY26 Bonus

Another key highlight of the new compensation policy is that both the increase in base salary and the lump-sum payment will be included in an employee’s eligible earnings for the financial year.

This means the combined amount will be considered while calculating the FY26 performance bonus, ensuring employees do not lose out because of the revised payout structure.

📉 VEIP and ESPP Deductions Will Apply

Employees enrolled in Accenture’s:

  • 📌 Voluntary Equity Investment Program (VEIP)
  • 📌 Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP)

will continue to have the applicable percentage deductions made from the one-time lump-sum payment, in line with existing company policies.

🔍 What This Means for Accenture Employees

The revised salary hike model is expected to benefit a larger number of employees by making annual increments more widely available. While only half of the increase becomes part of permanent base pay, the immediate lump-sum payment provides additional cash in hand without affecting eligibility for future bonus calculations.

For many employees, the new compensation strategy strikes a balance between higher take-home earnings in the short term and continued long-term salary growth, while enabling Accenture to manage costs in an evolving global business landscape.
